Mass Premier Soccer recently held their inaugural Coach Education Symposium. Below are the guest coaches bios who presented at the event, which focused on effective coaching of the youth soccer player;

Roy Millar -
Roy Millar is the former Director of Coaching for the Irish Football Association and is the former manager of the Northern Ireland national under-21 football team. He previously played in the Irish League for Cliftonville F.C. and in with Dundela F.C in the old ’B’ Division. Since joining the Irish FA as a coach in 1982 Millar has at some point taken charge of all youth teams from Under-16 to Under-19 and also the Northern Ireland B team and the Northern Ireland Elite (Under-19) squad that takes part in the Milk Cup.
Roy holds the UEFA Pro License and a respected instructor of this course. Roy has also been a lecturer at the NSCAA convention for the previous four years as well as working on their coach education courses in both Fort Lauderdale and Stanford University. In addition to this Roy has lectured at Dallas FC as well as numerous lecturing roles in Europe for UEFA and the rest of the world for FIFA. Roy also also been part of 8 technical study groups for both UEFA and FIFA concerning the youth game.
Darren Gallagher -
Darren Gallagher is in his first season as the head women’s soccer coach at the College of the Holy Cross in 2009. Gallagher came to the Crusaders from Massachusetts Premier Soccer, where he has served as technical director since 2005. During the 2007 and 2008 seasons, he was the head coach of the Boston Renegades of the USL W-League. In addition to coaching the Renegades, he has been the head coach of a number of Massachusetts Premier Soccer’s Premier Teams. A native of Scotland, Gallagher graduated from Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in education. He holds a National Soccer Coaches Association of America premier license, and a National Soccer Coaches Association of America advanced national diploma.
