MPS World Cup Challenge

Following the success of the Coaches Challenge in 2009, MPS are delighted to announce the 2010 World Cup Coaches Challenge. The original challenge saw an array of MPS Staff Coaches taking part in skills challenges which we at MPS then set to our players.

This year, we are challenging our Coaches in a new World Cup format to coincide with the upcoming tournament in South Africa. Several different challenges will be set to our coaches which will all be available to view right here.

Format:

32 staff members were selected at random and assigned a World Cup nation. The draw, done by our very own Joe Bradley, followed the actual World Cup groups. For example, the first coach drawn out of the hat was assigned team 1 in group A, South Africa. Please click here for the World Cup teams and the coached to represent that nation.

Two coaches from each group will progress to the second round, two coaches will leave the competition. From then on, each round will see coaches go head to head until we are left with one World Cup Coaches Challenge Winner.

Group Stages:

Each member of the each group attended an accuracy challenge in week 1 of the World Cup. Each coach had 5 attempts to strike a ball through 1 of 2 targets, each worth a certain amount of points. Highlights are now available for the group stages and can be found below.
