MPS Players Enjoy Practice at Gillette Stadium
NE Revolution player Jay Heaps puts the U14 Knights through their paces

Waltham, 28th September 2009; On Thursday September 24th, players from the MPS U14 Knights participated in a practice session at Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Revolution.

Revolution defender Jay Heaps led a 90 minute session for the MPS players which included a dynamic warm up, a technical exercise to work on the player’s first touch and games to improve shooting technique.

“It was a fantastic experience to play at Gillette Stadium and learn from a player of the caliber of Jay Heaps,” said MPS U14 Knights Head Coach Jon Coles.  “This was a once in a lifetime opportunity and a day that will live long in the memory of these boys.”

The session concluded with a shooting competition where Knights player Zach Lacava emerged the winner of a signed Jay Heaps adidas soccer ball.  After a cool down, Heaps participated in a question and answer session and signed autographs for all players.

The MPS U14 Knights are currently counting down to the 2009 USL Super-Y League National Finals to be held in Tampa, FL during November.  The Knights secured qualification for the event by winning the New England Division during the regular season.

“It was a fantastic achievement to qualify for the National Finals in the first year of the Knights program,” said Coles.  “We look forward to this team continuing to grow within the MPS Player Development System.
