Waltham, 6th July 2010; MPS is pleased to welcome nine players from Scotland, England and Ireland who have joined various teams within the Premier Team Program for the summer months.
The nine individuals bring a wealth of experience to their various teams and complement the talent that exists at the club.
“We are delighted to welcome a crop of international athletes to MPS as we attempt to provide a cultural experience for these individuals, while also exposing our existing players to talent from the UK and Ireland,” said MPS Director of Coaching Peter Bradley. “The individuals have settled in extremely well and have enjoyed their participation with their individual teams in the USL Super-Y League.”
Two players from Scotland have teamed up with the MPS U17 Crusaders, coached by Graham Munro. Alan Duff (Tain, Scotland) arrives after previously competing in the youth development system of Ross County FC from the Scottish Football League First Division. Niall Fraser (Alness, Scotland) plays for Brora Rangers FC in the highly regarded Scottish Highland League.
The MPS U17 Bulldogs have added striker Kyle Friel (Derry, Northern Ireland) who has made an immediate impact for Joe Bradley’s side with a number of goals to date. The forward brings youth national team experience to MPS after representing Northern Ireland on a number of occasions.
MPS coach James Blackwell welcomes six players from the youth setup of Charlton Athletic ladies to his teams. Joining the MPS U15 Lady Crusaders are forward Jade Keogh (London, England), midfielder/forward Courteney Gibson, (London, England) and midfielder Kylie Manktelow (Kent, England). Joining the MPS U16 Lady Crusaders are midfielder Katie Sheppard (Kent, England) and forward Fliss Gibbons (Kent, England). Rounding out the English contingent is Ellie Bales, (Kent, England) who will play for the MPS U17 Lady Crusaders.
