Waltham, 19th July 2010; MPS is pleased to announce the club has established a partnership with online learning tool SpacedEd in a move to enhance player and coach education.
SpacedEd will offer MPS players and coaches an enjoyable way to learn more about proper nutrition, warm-up exercises, injury prevention and rehabilitation, key psychological skills, and Speed Agility Quickness (SAQ) development. The program uses a question and answer format that adapts to user input and performance.
“We are delighted to integrate the SpacedEd online learning program into the club as we continue to commit to player and coach education at MPS,” said MPS Director of Coaching Peter Bradley. “The interactive model will allow our players and coaches to benefit from a proven method of education.”
In the SpacedEd test format questions are repeated several times to help users remember new material. When questions are answered correctly, they are eliminated from the activity. When questions are answered incorrectly, they are repeated sooner and appear numerous times so that users can learn the information. Test takers are given instant feedback when answering questions and are also provided with the performance statistics of peers using SpacedEd to ensure a social, competitive learning experience.
“Education is a vital part of our mission statement as we seek to enhance the soccer experience of players and coaches in Massachusetts,” said Bradley. “With a full time technical department focused on sports performance, injury prevention, curriculum development, sports psychology and video analysis, we are confident we can continue to develop players to their maximum potential.
