Waltham, 19th July 2010; The MPS U20 men’s team earned their place at the USL Super-20 National Finals last week after finishing the regular season with a 3-0 victory over Albany Black Watch.
The victory secured the New England Division Championship and earned the team an automatic berth to the national finals to be held in Rockford, Illinois from July 29th-August 1st. Goals from Daniel Galvin, David Taylor, and Christopher Lerner secured crucial points for MPS.
“We are delighted that the MPS U20 men have maneuvered their way through a difficult group and earned a berth at the USL Super-20 national finals,” said MPS Director of Coaching Peter Bradley. “The team heads to Illinois full of confidence and we wish them every success at the event.”
The MPS U20 men, led by Coaches Matt Colven and Andy Prosser, completed the regular season with a 6-1-1 record and head to the national finals for the second consecutive year. They will compete alongside Major League Soccer teams LA Galaxy, Columbus Crew Juniors and Chicago Fire.
