Waltham, 22nd July 2010; MPS is excited to announce details of the 2010 Banquet that will be held on Saturday 31st of July at Newton South High School Stadium field from 5pm-8pm.
Highlighting the event is the showcase USL Super-Y League contest between the MPS U15 Bulldogs and the U15 Ottawa Fury at 6pm. Prior to kickoff and at halftime, there will be entertainment and coach/parent challenges on the field.
In the build up to the banquet, Newton South High School will host four MPS Super-Y League games with action commencing at 9am. Parents and players are encouraged to tailgate in the parking lot prior to the banquet commencing at 5pm.
“The annual Banquet gives MPS the opportunity to celebrate a year of success and also gives the club an opportunity to thank the players, parents, volunteers and parents managers whose hard work is a big part of our success as a club,” said MPS Marketing Director Andrew Moir. “This year the players will take center stage and we look forward to watching them compete in a series of high quality games throughout the day.
As part of the banquet, MPS will host a Volkswagen/adidas fundraising event to raise fund for the MPS Inner-City Initiative program. Volkswagen will bring four VW Routans to the venue for parents to test drive. For each test drive, up to 75 test drives, VW will donate $25 to the MPS Inner City Initiative to aid in the goal of bringing the MPS School of Excellence program and premier level soccer coaching to at-risk, under-served communities in Eastern Mass.
“We are excited to add the Volkswagen/adidas test drive event to our fundraising calendar,” said MPS Inner-City Initiative Director Graham Munro. “We hope that the MPS community will participate to aid the club in the goal of bringing the Inner-City initiative program to more players and new communities moving forward.”
