MPS Knights Program Continues to Rise
U14 Knights qualify for second consecutive USL Super-Y League North American Finals

Waltham, MA, 13th August 2010; Established in 2008, the MPS Knights Premier Team Program has grown from one single team to a program which will now field teams aged U13-U16 during the 2010 / 2011 season.

Leading the way in 2010 were the MPS U14 Knights who earned qualification for the USL Super-Y League North American Finals for the second consecutive year.  Led by Head Coach, and MPS Knights Director, Andy Prosser the U14 Knights will head to Florida after earning a bid to the USL finals via the New England Division.

“After launching the MPS Knights Premier Program only two years ago, we are delighted to achieve immediate success on the field with the current U14 squad,” said MPS Knights Director Andy Prosser.  “While still in its infancy, we are delighted with the success of the program to date and we look forward to building upon these steady foundations starting this fall.”

In addition to their Y-League success, the U14 Knights also capped a fine season in 2010 by capturing the Akron Soccer League Tournament in Buffalo, NY in May and also claimed a semi final berth at the MA State Cup in June.

Other tournament successes for the program included the U15 Knights who marched towards the semi final of the Needham Memorial Day College Showcase event before eventually being eliminated by the MPS Crusaders.

The MPS Knights received a huge boost this fall as MPS senior staff member Andy Prosser was named Director and given the remit of overseeing program development in the region which includes monitoring all School of Excellence and Premier Teams.  Prosser brings a wealth of experience to the Knights program after successfully developing players in the Metro Boston girls SOE and South Shore boys SOE programs during his time with the club.  A member of the MPS U20 coaching staff which guided the team to the 2010 USL Super-20 National Finals, Prosser has coached many MPS Crusaders Premier Teams over the past four years.

“I am delighted to undertake a new challenge in my coaching career and bring a fresh enthusiasm to the MPS Knights program, said Prosser.  “As we move forward into 2010 / 2011 season, the goal is to expand upon the early success of the Knights franchise and continue to attract the top players from the region.”

The MPS Knights Program draws players from the North Shore region and Northern MA.  For more information on playing opportunities in the MPS Knights Program please contact Andy Prosser on 781-891-6900 ext.16 or aprosser@mpsbr.com
