Waltham, January 31st 2008;
The MPS Cape Cod Crusaders will kick of their 2008 PDL campaign at a brand new
home location on Saturday 10th May when the New Hampshire Phantoms come to town.
Mass Maritime Academy in Buzzards Bay will play host to four of the clubs seven
home games during the 2008 regular season
Crusaders Head Coach Paul Baber is delighted to
move his 2007 Northeast Division Champions to the new home picturesque location.
"We are ecstatic to play four home games
at Mass Maritime Academy this season"
said Baber. "The beautiful location coupled with the fantastic field
turf surface will ensure that the home games are a spectacle in 2008. "
The Crusaders will compete in
The PDL's New England Division of the Eastern
Conference in 2008. Opponents include Rhode Island Stingrays, Ottawa Fury,
Vermont Voltage and recent expansion team New Hampshire Phantons.
"Rhode Island,
Ottawa and Vermont are all very good sides and we look forward to facing them
again in 2008," said Baber. "New Hampshire is a side we are
unfamiliar with as they have just dropped down from the USL 2nd Division.
It will be interesting to see the transition in this side."
As well as Mass
Maritime Academy, the Crusaders will also use Whitman-Hanson High School and
Bowditch Stadium as a home location. Both these facilities will host a
double header contest with the W-League's MPS Boston Renegades.
"Double Header
fixtures are a fantastic spectacle for families to attend," said Baber.
"We are extremely lucky that this year we will host a double header fixture at
both Whitman-Hanson and Bowditch Stadium. These events give fans the
opportunity to see the nation's finest men's and women's collegiate talent in
one evening."
