Waltham, February 21st 2008;
MPS completed a successful start to the 2008 camp season holding clinics at nine
separate locations during last weeks February vacation. The four day
events, held at indoor facilities throughout eastern MA, drew large numbers at
both recreational and School of Excellence camps.
The club sent UK born UEFA licensed coaches to
Framingham, Groton, Southborough and Weston for the weeks recreational camps
which were open to any player from the age of 4-13.
"It was great to see such high numbers attend
our recreational camps, "said MPS Academy Director Ray Head. "MPS camps
are designed to give players the ultimate soccer experience with the correct
balance of education and fun.
From our Smart Soccer program for
players aged 4-8, to our Skill Seekers program for 9-13 year olds, our camp
weeks are a very professional soccer development environment."
The February
vacation also allowed the School of Excellence program to conduct a week long
training program in five of the clubs SOE training locations.
"The February
week is a big part of the SOE program as it allows the Technical Director from
each location to get their players together for an intense week of structured
development," said School of Excellence Director Justin Capell. "The
players in our program thrive at the opportunity to participate in the
challenging, fun and competitive environment that the week provides."
With the
success of the past week now behind them, MPS look forward in preparation to the
April vacation week where camps will be held in no fewer than 15 locations
across eastern MA. For more information on camps in your area please visit
