Saturday evening saw the Renegades defeat the
Fredericksburg Lady Gunners 6-0.
Jamie Craft
got her side off to a flying start with the
opening goal after eight minutes The Renegades went on to notch
three times before the interval with goals by
Ashlee Pistorius,
Lauren MacIver
and
Tori Huster.
In the second half,
MacIver
and
Huster
found the back of the net again to round out
the 6-0 victory.
"Saturday was a very professional performance by the
entire team," said Gallagher. "Jamie set the ball rolling with a good
early goal and front that point onwards, we were able to play with a very
positive frame of mind."
The Renegades then traveled to Northern Virginia for
their second game of the weekend and left with three precious W-League points
after a 4-1 victory.
MT McDonnell
settled the Renegades nerves with a goal either side
of the interval.
MacIver
then notched her third goal of an impressive weekend
in the 75th minute, while
Rachel Lim
tallied her first goal of the season in the
77th minute of play. The Majestics got a late consolation through Watson
in the last minute of the game.
"On Sunday it was imperative that we picked up
three points and again we approached the game with the right mentality," said
Gallagher. "MT scored at a very good time for us after a sluggish start to
the game and I think that gave us the boost to go on and get a further three
goals in the second half."
The Renegades will host the Fredericksburg Lady
Gunners Saturday 14th June at Whitman Hanson High School with kick off slated
for 4.30pm. Saturdays game is part one of a double header contest with the
MPS Cape Cod Crusaders who entertain the Rhode Island Stingrays at 7.00pm.
