The Cape Cod native exemplifies everything that MPS looks for in a player.  The talented individual has determination, versatility and a tremendous amount of ability to match.

Tucker's passion stretches way beyond his own Premier Team as he is a permanent fixture at the MPS Crusaders first team games.  His vocal support is a huge indication of the passion he holds for the club.

.

MPS was privileged to sit down with Tucker recently and get his views on a number of different topics.

1) Andrew, how long have you played in the MPS Player Development System?

I am now in my fifth season at MPS.

2)  What are your fondest memories at MPS?

The England trip (as part of XL Travel Tours) was awesome. It was an unbelievable once in a lifetime experience. I have also enjoyed the tournament travel, being with all the guys, and the strong level of competition we’ve faced. Most of all I have enjoyed the top-notch training offered by MPS and all the friends I have made with players in coaches along the way.

3) As part of the MPS U18 Crusaders, what are your goals going into the 2008 season?

We just want to do our personal best, and work together as a team to have a winning season.

4) Due to an injury, you recently filled in at the goalkeeper position which gave you the honor of playing every position during your time at MPS.  How did that feel?

I just stepped up and did what was right for the team. Everyone else stepped up when I went in net, so I knew I had the support of the team behind me.

5)  What are your soccer plans as you head to college in the fall of 2008?

I will play for Western New England College.

6) How did playing at MPS help you in the college process?

The guidance and support was awesome. The deadlines kept me on track and focused, and way ahead of the game. By September, I had my selection narrowed down to six schools, and my applications ready. Being part of MPS also gave me the tournament exposure I needed to allow a number of college coaches to contact me. Paul Baber answered all my questions, recommended me to my coaches, and was tremendous support throughout the entire process.

7)  Have you given any thought to a career path beyond college?

I will be studying Sports Management and will be working on my coaching licenses during college. I would like to get my Masters at a school where I can work as an assistant coach, and then go from there.

8) You are a regular face at the MPS Cape Cod Crusaders PDL games.  How much do you enjoy watching these contests?

I live for those games. They are my team and I am there to support them.

9) Who are your soccer idols?

Joe Cole, Steven Gerrard, and David Bulow (ex Crusaders captain).

10) Finally, who has been the biggest influence on your soccer career?

My parents and all of my coaches have been so supportive. I have been really lucky, but I would say that two coaches stood out above the rest, Ansel Davis  and Rich Burdon, my first MPS coach. Ansel taught me about determination and commitment. Rich helped me to refine my game and turned me into a leader. Both were strong role models in helping me become the soccer player and the person that I am today. Both also shared with me a passion for the game.
