MPS Premier / Premier Development Teams Enjoy Residential Camp Week
Curtain Raiser for Fall Season Held In Southern Mass

Waltham, 10th August 2009; The week of July 27th to 31st witnessed over 200 MPS players participate in the clubs summer Residential Camp pre-season week. The week allows MPS coaches to begin preparations for the fall season with the upcoming U13 and U14 sides within the club. Teams from the MPS Bulldogs / Renegades, Crusaders / Lady Crusaders and Knights / Lady Knights Premier Programs, as well as the Premier Development Black teams attended the camp week.

The boys from the club attended the camp at Bridgewater State College whilst the girls were down on Cape Cod at Massachusetts Maritime Academy.

“The summer residential week is a key component of the MPS Premier and Premier Development calender as the teams prepare for the fall season,” said MPS Director of Coaching Peter Bradley. “The locations we utilize provide outstanding facilities for training and the players and coaches relish the opportunity to work on the field in a high intensity week of camp.”

During the residential week, each day has a separate developmental theme as the coaches seek to improve players in the technical, tactical, physical and psychological components of the game. Each day is culminated with inter-club scrimmages which allow coaches to work with their teams in a natural game environment.

“Aside from the obvious developmental benefits of the residential week, the camp is always a wonderful way for players to get to know each other and their coach away from the field,” said Bradley. “At MPS we like to pride ourselves on how we develop our players as people as well as soccer players and our Residential Camps are a big part in ensuring that we fulfill this mission.”
