The MPS School of Excellence (SOE) is a player development program that caters for motivated young players, boys and girls, aged 6-12 yrs old. SOE is geared towards dedicated and passionate individuals who are looking for advanced training with similarly talented players. The SOE is also designed to work in conjunction with town programs, offering players an supplemental development avenue as opposed to a replacement one. The focus, regardless of age or placement, remains exclusively on player development. 

The tiered structure enables us to place players in the most developmentally appropriate environment. The School of Excellence incorporates the JSOE, SOE Academy and the SOE Elite.

The JSOE program is a fun, yet technically challenging, introduction to the SOE program. It caters for 1st and 2nd grade players and is open registration.

The SOE Academy is aimed at the more motivated, high level, town players who are looking for excellent coaching in both training and games during their time with the School of Excellence.

The SOE Elite program is designed for players who have consistently excelled in the areas of skill, attitude and committment. Typically players begin their development in the SOE Academy, although players may be asked straight into the Elite program upon evaluation at SOE tryouts.

New for 2011/2012 is the addition of our Inner City Initiative. The program has been put together to provide young players in under-served communities the opportunity to experience the SOE level of professional coaching and structure.

Throughout their time in the SOE program, players are instructed primarily on the technical aspects of the game of soccer (dribbling, passing, shooting, 1st touch, use of both feet) and will also be introduced to small group tactics (1v1, 2v2 up to 4v4 situations) in a challenging, fun and competitive environment. Players will be encouraged to express themselves on the field and try different things without fear of coach reprisal.
