The 2011 Volkswagen Jr Masters Tournament went off this past weekend with great success. The 12 teams that entered the event experienced some fierce competition, all hoping to reach the final and book their journey to Los Angeles. After the group stages, the final four teams that remained included FC Blazers, New York Hota Lions, AC Arlington and Western United. After two brilliant semi finals the two teams that made it through were NY Hota Lions and AC Arlington.
Having already booked their spots for the US National Championships the two teams enjoyed the show piece final with a proud sense of achievement. The final score was 2-1 to the eventual champions the NY Hota Lions.
Congratualtions to the winners and thank you to everyone who competed in this years tournament. We will look forward to seeing you all again in 2012!!

MPS are delighted to announce that we have been chosen as a Regional Host club for the 2011 Volkswagen Jr Masters tournament.
The VW Junior Masters is a world event with the finals of the International Junior Masters Tournament held in Warsaw, Poland on May 30 – June 3, 2012 – with winners of the US National event will getting a full “expenses paid” trip (up to 18 players and two staff/coaches). The MPS Regional tournament winners will qualify for the US National Championships in Los Angeles, CA in November 2011.
MPS have been selected to host the New England Regional event for the VW Jr. Masters. This tournament is currently only open for Boys teams at the U12 age group (or for players born in/after 1999).
There is a 32 team limit at this event which will follow a similar qualifying structure as the FIFA world cup.
In conjunction with the VW Jr. Masters Tournament will be the “Youth Masters”Tournament for U8-U12 Boys and Girls teams.
Dates: TBD 2012
Location: 10 fields at Citizens bank fields, Lancaster
U8-U10 will be held on 6v6 fields
U11-U12 will be held on 8v8 fields
Cost: $595.00 per team for the VW Jr.Masters Tournament – (Only for male players born in/after 1999 or U12 Boys teams).
Volkswagen will host autograph signings and skills competitions at your regional event run by Major League Soccer & adidas sponsored players andinstructors.
Volkswagen will have a Junior Masters Managing Director to act as an on-site liason for any questions from parents/coaches regarding the International or U.S. Finals. A national hotline and website will be established to support each of the clubs. Director will also support & assist with rules and final tournament structure.
