o Athletic;
o Competent distributors of the ball;
o Dominant tacklers;
o Able to deliver accurate, long range passes
- All MPS Premier Midfielders should be effective passers – in all directions, especially with the final pass.
- An effective midfield player should have the ability to collect the ball, (Even in tight areas), and get it to the next player in a way that effectively maintains possession or creates an attacking opportunity.
- Premier level midfield players need to recognise their role as attacking players and their responsibility for creating scoring chances – through dribbling, passing or long range shooting.
- MPS Premier Midfielders should be aware of their crucial role when their team is defending.
